Our Contractors insurance policy provides the following cover as standard:

• Public Liability
  • Public Liability – covers your legal liability in connection with your business to members of the public for accidental injury or accidental damage to property.
  • Cover is provided for a limit of £1 million for any one occurrence and may be increased to £2 million or £5 million for most trades. The limit for pollution or contamination is £1 million regardless of the previous option selected. Your quotation/policy schedule will record which option you have selected.
  • Cover includes:
    • Bona fide sub-contractors
    • Principal/Employer Extension
    • Health & Safety at Work Legal Defence Costs
    • Contingent Motor Liability
    • Court Attendance Compensation
  • Cover may be extended to apply in respect of up to 3 temporary employees.

The following cover is mandatory where you have employee(s):

• Employer's Liability
  • Employer's Liability - covers your legal liability in connection with your business to your employees.
  • Cover is provided for a limit of £10 million for any one occurrence.
  • Cover includes:
    • Principal/Employer Extension
    • Health & Safety at Work Legal Defence Costs
    • Court Attendance Compensation
  • Cover may be extended to apply in respect of up to 3 temporary employees

The following covers are optional at extra cost:

• Tools – this cover is not applicable if the Contract Works option is selected.
  • Covers loss or damage to hand tools or hand held portable power tools and parts and other business equipment.
  • Limits of £1,000, £1,500 or £2,000 in any one period of insurance per person are available. There is a limit for any one Tool of £300.

• Contract Works

  Covers loss or damage as follows dependent on option selected:

• Personal Accident
  • Covers you or your partners or working directors aged between 16 and 65 against accidents occurring at work, which results in total disablement.
  • Temporary total disablement. £200 weekly benefit – up to a maximum of 104 weeks.
  • Permanent total disablement £5,000 capital sum.
