Commercial legal protection

Commercial Legal Protection is an optional cover designed to cover your legal expenses in certain circumstances as detailed in the Policy Document. This section is underwritten by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited.

The following features and benefits apply to your commercial legal protection cover. This is in four parts and covers against:

• Employment disputes and compensation awards
• Legal defense
• Property protection and bodily injury
• Tax investigation and VAT disputes
• Cover limit £100,000 any one claim; maximum limit of £1m in any one period of insurance for Employment Compensation Awards

Significant Exclusions or Limitations for Commercial Legal Protection:

• Employment dispute where the cause of action arises within the first 90 days of the indemnity provided by this Section.
• Dispute with an employee who was subject to a written or oral warning (formal or informal) within 180 days immediately preceding the inception date of the indemnity provided by this Section if the Date of Occurrence was within the first 180 days of the indemnity provided by this Section.
• Redundancy or alleged redundancy or unfair selection for redundancy arising within the first 180 days of the indemnity provided by this Section.
