The following is covered as standard within our motor trade policy:
Our policy covers your buildings, machinery, plant, trade contents, stock and vehicles for loss or damage on an all risks basis. This includes cover for incidents such as fire, explosion, storm damage, malicious damage and theft involving forcible and violent entry or exit from the premises.
Provides cover of up to £2,000,000 for sums you become legally liable to pay in respect of accidental injury to any person or accidental loss or damage to their material property happening in the course of your business or caused by the nature or condition of anything sold or supplied by your business.
There are four types of cover available -

| European Union wide certificate wording which includes all EU Countries. Cover is the minimum indemnity required to comply with the laws relating to compulsory insurance of motor vehicles in any country which is a member of the European Union. | |
| Uninsured Loss Recovery and Injury | |
| We will pay the policyholder's costs of taking legal action as a result of any road accident which causes death or bodily injury to the policyholder or damage to their vehicle or property. | £100,000 any one event |
In respect of any vehicles owned and registered by you or any private car or motorcycle owned and registered in the name of your customer since new and within the first 12 months of registration which is in your custody or control, we will replace such vehicle with a new one of the same make and model.
In addition to the standard cover you can add extras onto your policy for an additional premium. These are as follows:
Employer's Liability - Provides cover of up to £10,000,000 for sums you become legally liable to pay as damages, together with your legal costs and expenses relating to an injury to an employee for which you are legally liable.
Business Interruption - This helps you stay in
business by covering loss of gross profit and/or any related
increase in the cost of working, incurred as a result of a loss
covered under Section 1 of the policy.
Cover is up to the gross profit sum insured specified by you with
your choice of indemnity period from 12, 18, 24 or 36 months.
MOT - Loss of Licence - Provides cover to replace loss of profit from MOT testing and associated repair and servicing work following suspension or withdrawal of your licence. Cover includes:
Conversion - Covers loss following purchase of a vehicle from a person who does not legally own it.
Fidelity Guarantee - Covers losses arising from acts of fraud and dishonesty by employees.

Personal Accident - This cover provides compensation in certain circumstances to proprietors, partners, directors and employees, up to 65 years of age arising from accidents at work. The basic level of cover provides:
These are some of the exclusions that apply to the policy. There are also further provisions such as those relating to security requirements, alarms and under insurance as well as general conditions and exclusions. Details of these can be found in the policy document. Other additional terms and conditions may be applied in certain cases. Excesses apply to certain types of claims.
Theft by force - We shall not be liable for damage resulting from theft or attempted theft unless:

Portable Hand Tools - Cover for theft is excluded unless portable hand tools are stored in a locked tool chest which is secured to the fabric of the building. See exclusion 14 of Section 1 within the policy document for terms and conditions.
Unoccupied Buildings - Damage to buildings which are unoccupied caused by freezing, escape of water from any tank, apparatus or pipe or malicious persons is excluded. See exclusion 15 of Section 1 within the policy document for terms and conditions.

Money in Transit - it is a condition of the policy that money in transit will be accompanied by:
We will not be liable for any loss of money in a specified locked safe out of business hours unless all of the safe keys have been removed from the premises. See page 7 of the policy document for terms and conditions
Motor Garage Condition - This details measures which you must take regarding the storage and removal of waste materials and the storage of flammable liquids. See General Condition 19 of the policy document for terms and conditions.
Portable Heating - The use of portable heating devices in areas other than canteens and offices is not permitted. See General Condition 21 of the policy document for terms and conditions.
During business hours vehicle keys or key cards must be kept in a secure location.
Outside business hours or whilst the premises are left unattended, said keys or key cards must be removed from the premises or if kept on the premises - placed in a locked safe or cabinet and its key or keys removed from the premises or if the person responsible for their safe custody lives on the premises, removed to that part of the premises which the person actually lives.
Metered Water - We shall not be liable for any loss resulting from damage from a loss of metered water in respect of unoccupied premises or accidental escape of water from any automatic sprinkler installation in the premises.
Public Liability - Cover does not apply

Public and Products Liability - Cover excludes legal liability arising out of the following:
Public Utilities - We will not be liable for failure of the supply of gas, water, electricity or telecommunications where the cessation of the supply is for less than 6 hours. See extension 3 of Section 8 within the policy document for terms and conditions.
Employer's Liability - Cover excludes legal liability arising out of travelling from or to or working on any offshore installation. See Exclusion 2 of Section 7 within the policy document for terms and conditions.
