Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK are keener to adapt emerging technologies and green IT than their global competitors, a new survey indicates.
A study by CompTIA found that 65 per cent of British SMEs say they are "constantly" evaluating the worth offered by new technologies, reports Computing.co.uk.
This compares with 51 per cent in the USA and 39 per cent in Canada.
Furthermore, over half of small firms in the UK believe that technology is vital to giving them a competitive edge.
Speaking to the news provider, Matthew Poyiadgi, European vice-president of CompTIA, claimed that the biggest issue facing UK firms is deciding which technologies are going to be successful.
"Choosing which horse to back is considerably easier if you have a talented pool of staff providing you with good, up-to-date information," he says.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Small Businesses has urged companies to make sure their employees are aware of virus risks which can accompany the use of Wi-Fi internet access.
