An expert has suggested that companies of varying sizes can find team building exercises rewarding.
Sal Jefford, sales and marketing manager for ProActive, said that some teams simply want a day away from the workplace to "have fun and try something new".
Others participate in such activities in order to strengthen teamwork among employees, Ms Jefford commented.
"Generally the vast majority of people say that they've got out of it what they wanted to," she remarked.
Corporate team building exercises tend to be most popular during September to November and between January and March, she added.
Jonathan Miles, corporate sales director at Brilliant Weekends, recently advised businesses organising team building trips to shortlist several destinations, inspect their chosen site and complete "budgetary research", New Business reports.
The expert also urged companies to "plan in advance", stating that leaving organising the event to the last minute can lead to "panic-buying" and "disappointing" employees.
