Business insurance holders in Yorkshire and Humber's manufacturing industry are being encouraged to take advantage of the support which is open to them, it has been revealed.
According to regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, a specialist taskforce has discovered that many of the area's business insurance customers are not making the most of opportunities provided for them.
Taskforce chair, Richard Wright, chief executive of Intertius, commented: "An example would be finance. There are various publicly-funded finance schemes available through Business Link Yorkshire but the banks still remain the major source of short term finance."
In addition, Mr Wright said that business insurance holders have access to a great deal of support through the Manufacturing Advisory Service, which helps to improve process efficiency and productivity as well as offering mentoring.
The expert recommended that manufacturers looking for extra help through the ongoing economic downturn regard Business Link Yorkshire as their first point of contact.
Earlier this month, the East Midlands Development Agency revealed that its HighGrowth East Midlands programme has supported 27 firms in the opening months of the year.
