In today's increasingly flexible working environment, more and more small businesses are allowing their employees to work from home.
While this can be an excellent idea, it is essential to ensure that adequate training is in place in order to ensure that productivity levels do not fall, according to Training Synergy.
David Field, training solutions provider for Training Synergy, said that allowing employees to work from home can lead to financial rewards and greater diversity.
However, a recent report by Oxford University found that a lack of technology was a key obstacle for SME homeworking.
Mr Field said: "Being dependent on laptops, PCs and all the other paraphernalia that go with today's technology-dominated and facilitated workplace means that small technology-related issues can soon render a homeworker helpless and unproductive."
