A new study suggests small business insurance customers are losing faith in the government after last week's Budget.
Research by the Forum of Private Business (FPB) discovered that 97 per cent of small business insurance holders believe the Budget has failed to alleviate the cost burdens they face.
In addition, 94 per cent said it did not address the major issues threatening their company's survival, with just one per cent claiming it was an effective response to their immediate needs.
Worryingly, one-quarter of small business insurance customers said the Budget could prove "harmful" to them, while 68 per cent believe it will be "ineffective".
FPB campaigns coordinator Jane Bennett commented: "The 2009 Budget has received a big thumbs-down from the FPB's members. The results of our survey highlight the Government's missed opportunity to support employers and prevent job losses."
Last week, the Federation of Small Businesses claimed that the Budget failed to ease the conditions facing the UK's small companies.
