Small firms should do more to stamp out bullying in the workplace, according to one expert.
In news which might be of interest to business insurance customers, Lyn Witheridge, chief executive of the Andrea Adams Trust, warned that intimidation in the workplace can make people's lives a misery.
She said: "We all want to go to work, but we don't want to go to be beaten up, physically or psychologically."
Managers need to make sure that they are able to deal with any bullying issues, Ms Witheridge added.
It is up to everyone to pull together and stop people being victimised in the workplace, she stated.
Research by the trust reveals that 50 per cent of those who are bullied at work say they were subject to intimidation for more than a year.
It also found that 60 per cent of people feel being victimised adversely affected their performance at work.
