Smaller businesses might benefit from considering whether they could conduct operations form home or through a virtual office, an adviser says.
Hina Joshi from Business Link said virtual offices are becoming more popular as they can help a company appear larger than it really is.
She also suggested smaller firms could choose their accountant's premises as their registered office address, wherever it was located.
Ms Joshi said a virtual office can help a company seem big "rather it being someone trading from their bedroom at home".
She added people setting up businesses which require staff immediately would find premises more appropriate, while those who can manage alone could be better off at home.
Business Link is the government's multi-channel support service for business of all sizes from start-up to succession.
A non-political organisation, it aims to provide help and support businesses to grow and become more competitive.
