Small business insurance holders are not likely to take advantage of cloud computing until high-speed internet becomes readily available, one expert has claimed.
Matt Yardley, partner at Analysys Mason, noted that a number of new networks are being introduced with higher capabilities but it will still be some time before small business insurance holders would have full access.
He stated that he expects UK-wide availability to take up to ten years before both fixed and mobile connections will become a viable proposition for small business insurance holders.
Mr Yardley added: "Where the big growth potential is - is, when we unlock it, working together with the telecoms market, how we can really seize that market potential."
A recent seminar on cloud computing - the Westminster eForum Keynote Seminar -looked at its potential to be used as a platform, the practicalities facing organisations who are adopting online services and the challenges it would bring to business.
