Search engine optimisation (SEO) is a good way for firms to get their website noticed, it has been claimed.

In news which might be of interest to business insurance customers, the Daily Telegraph reports comments that SEO is a cost-effective way of spending a marketing budget.

Speaking to the newspaper, Will Critchlow, co-founder of Distilled a SEO firm, explained that advertising online is "a recoverable and effective" form of marketing.

He said: "If I was trying to build a business that can grow I would put all my effort into something which works best."

Mr Critchlow added that in terms of SEO this means that ensuring the address, title and content of a webpage include keywords that people would use when searching for the product the firm supplies.

In other news which might be of interest to business insurance customers, a recent study by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales found that 83 per cent of firms in the UK are still looking to expand despite the economic downturn.ADNFCR-873-ID-18827971-ADNFCR
