The list of the UK's top 50 green hotels was dominated by businesses in Scotland, it has been reported.
Some 34 hotels in the country received gold awards for their environmental policies as part of the initiative organised by the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Among the other hotels receiving praise was the Club La Costa resort Duchally Country Estate, whose general manager Graeme Macdonald commented on their achievement.
"We're delighted with this silver award and we hope it will inspire other businesses to do the same. Now we're going for gold," he remarked.
Andrea Nicholas, director of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, said that the list was a "sign of the future" as consumers become more concerned about environmental practices.
In related news, Deloitte's HotelBenchmark survey found that in terms of room revenue per available room, Scotland's hotel sector saw the biggest growth within the UK during the 12 months to September.
