The ongoing recession could be causing workers to suffer more stress-related injuries, business insurance holders have learned.
A poll conducted by CreditExpert found 6.8 million people in the UK believe that they owe more money than they can manage, while factors such as long-term employment prospects and savings are common sources of financial worry.
In addition, chartered physiotherapist Sammy Margo told business insurance holders that she has seen a 25 per cent increase in the number of patients suffering from stress-related injuries since the recession started.
"We have seen more people suffering from stress related issues during the downturn and concerns around personal finances are frequently mentioned by clients as a source of worry and stress," she continued.
The expert also revealed that common signs of stress-related musculoskeletal problems include middle and lower back pain, pins and needles, and neck, shoulder and arm discomfort.
Last week, business insurance holders learned that the government has launched a new campaign to reduce cases of workplace harassment and violence.
