The Pub is the Hub campaign is to extend to Denbighshire and aims to support pub insurance customers in rural areas.
Backed by Prince Charles, the initiative encourages these establishments to offer community services such as a post office or shop in addition to their typical fare.
The three-year[,] £175,000 project will provide advice and financial support for pub insurance owners looking into this approach.
Malcolm Harrison, project leader for Denbighshire and a former director of Thwaites, tells the BBC that licensees can work with their local communities to help address the community's needs.
He states: "Pubs that have opened shops often provide an outlet for produce from local farms - there is a lot of synergy here, which can also help to broaden the pub's business base."
Lee Le Clercq, the British Beer and Pub Association's regional secretary for the north of England, recently called on the government not to increase excise duty on drinks as planned.
He claimed 2,000 pub insurance holders have shut their establishments since last year's Budget raised the rate.
