Businesses across the country are being urged to go green and save cash at a series of events.
At one such conference Prince Charles will address Scottish business leaders to ask them to tackle their carbon footprints, the Scotsman reports.
Speaking via a satellite link, he will address around 100 company leaders attending the Prince of Wales's May Day Business Summit in Edinburgh, which has been organised by Scottish Business in the Community (SBC).
Speaking to the newspaper, Samantha Barber, chief executive of the SBC, said: "Scottish businesses are already demonstrating their willingness to tackle the global crisis of climate change."
Action by small firms could have an influence on the behaviour of the public at large, she added.
A total of 12 similar events are taking place across the UK, the report concludes.
The events follow recent comments by John Trebel, managing director of the Green Consultancy, who recently said that companies have a "huge amount of work" to do to reduce their carbon footprints.
