Politicians and delegates at the conferences of the three main political parties are to be urged to keep trade local by one industry body.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), is set to host sponsored events at the Lib Dem, Labour and Tory conferences and representatives of the body will also give speeches on the subject.
John Wright, the FSB's national chairman, said: "Small businesses are the life-blood of the UK economy and they need to be heard consistently and constantly."
The conference season gives the body the perfect platform to get its message across, he added.
Mr Wright also expressed his "delight" at the range of events organised to help promote the campaign.
Recently, the FSB called on the government to do more to highlight tax-relief schemes available to small firms.
According to the body, not enough is done to inform companies of how they can save money.
