Retail insurance owners are being advised to make an effort to increase footfall this Pancake Day.

Displaysense is advising businesses throughout the UK to recognise the holiday, which falls on February 24th this year, in their approach to the period.

The company has issued a leaflet for business insurance owners which includes budget friendly recipes and ideas for companies to make the most of the sales Shrove Tuesday can bring in.

Steve Whittle, Displaysense's marketing manager, claims tapping into the local community is the key to generating additional customer spend for retail insurance owners.

He states: "Businesses really should try and encourage extra sales from any holiday day and Pancake Day is the perfect example of a money-generating opportunity that is going to waste."
