Retail insurance customers' willingness to embrace the digital revolution is helping them to survive the recession, it has been claimed.

Vanessa Canzini, a spokesperson for eBay, suggested that retail insurance holders who have moved their business online are tending to tackle the downturn without help from the government or banks.

She continued: "They are adapting to consumer demand and making themselves more efficient rather than cutting staff numbers and benefits."

In addition, Ms Canzini claimed that these retail insurance customers are recognising the shifts in the market and being dynamic in how they respond to this.

The representative also pointed out that many high street firms are adopting a wait-and-see attitude to the recession, in contrast to online companies' more proactive approach.

Recent research from eBay discovered that 69 per cent of online businesses say their outlook for the next three months is positive, showing a six per cent increase on the number recorded last quarter.ADNFCR-873-ID-19225622-ADNFCR
