Tourists arriving at Scotland's airports will be greeted by an image of a "vibrant" Scotland, a politician has said.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's PM programme, Rob Gibson, Scottish National Party MSP for the Highlands and Islands, suggested that the use of local images and a new strap line - Welcome to Scotland - was an improvement.
The previous greeting - The best small country in the world - was devised by former Labour first minister Jack McConnell two years ago and was described as "cringe-worthy" by Mr Gibson.
Mr Gibson added: "Having local images which allow us to be able to show the beauty of Scotland and the great attractions that there are in our cities
I would have to say that's a big step forward."
Meanwhile, the UK tourist industry has been promoted in Barcelona by VisitBritain, which is looking to help hoteliers and the like cash in on Britain's increasing popularity.
In excess of 6,000 buyers from more than 85 countries attended the EIBTM exhibition.
