Plans have been unveiled for a £15 million hotel near Aberdeen Airport, it has been reported.
According to the Evening Express, 180-bedroom Marriott Courtyard hotel will be the second such establishment following a similar development at Gatwick Airport.
Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging at Marriott, said the product had "terrific potential" in the city.
"While it is not our normal approach, we are investing in and developing this particular hotel ourselves," he commented.
In Deloitte's HotelBenchmark survey, Aberdeen was identified as one of the strongest performing hotel markets during the last quarter.
The firm noted that Aberdeen saw an 18.6 per cent increase in room revenue per available room in the last three months - the highest rate of growth of any city in the UK.
According to Deloitte, the rise can be attributed to demand from the oil and gas industry pushing the average room rate to £74 a night.
