Engineering and manufacturing insurance customers may be seeing early signs of improvement in the sectors as job placements are rising, according to one person in the industry.
Dean Ball, regional managing director at Michael Page Manufacturing, says that companies are now looking to restock supplies, after draining them down in recent months, the Recruiter reports.
He added that some clients are now making "tactical placements", leading to early signs of a recovery for manufacturing insurance customers.
His comments follow the release of figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which showed manufacturing output fell by 0.1 per cent in March, the smallest decline this year.
"I don't think we are necessarily seeing green shoots but because of the restocking things are slowly grinding into motion," Mr Ball told Recruiter magazine.
He added that it will be "interesting" to see if this trend continues, saying if everyone makes small orders that is all manufacturing insurance customers need.
The ONS figures showed that British manufacturing output fell at the fastest rate in the first three months of 2009.
