A licensee from Reading is looking to organise a march to parliament in opposition of the national smoking ban.
Jo Oakley, who runs the Red Lion at Mortimer West End, said that her business had lost a significant number of customers since the ban was introduced in July, the Morning Advertiser reports.
Although Ms Oakley had initially hoped her food sales would improve following the ban, this has not been the case as non-smoker customers "have not materialised".
"A lot of other pubs in the area are suffering so I want to organise a protest march where we can all voice our disgust about what has happened," she commented.
The businesswoman is inviting anyone else who objects to the new law to join in her protest.
In related news, JD Wetherspoon has predicted that the smoking ban will be of benefit to the pub trade in the long-term.
