
Gordon Ramsay could be joining struggling restaurant insurance customers as it is reported that he is trying to sell two of his London eateries.
The Devonshire pub and private dining rooms Sloane Street were put up for sale on the Restaurant Property website yesterday, but have since been taken down.
Gordon Ramsay Holdings denied that the Devonshire is being sold by the TV chef, but admitted the lease on the Sloane Street property is unlikely to be renewed when it expires at the end of the year.
Before Christmas the Michelin-starred cook was forced to close his Chelsea restaurant, Foxtrot Oscar, for two days a week, with the eatery only serving lunch on the other days.
Mr Ramsay is not alone in finding business tough at the moment, as restaurant insurance customers have been hit by more people opting for takeaways and fast-food outlets rather than fine dining.
Domino's Pizza recently reported an 8.6 per cent increase in sales while bakery Greggs said they have experienced a 5.34 per cent rise in takings.
