
Hotel insurance owners could be interested to discover that holiday parks are growing in popularity as they become more mainstream, an expert asserts.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket.com, claims that the "hi-de-hi!" stereotype has been replaced.
He says that holiday parks are becoming more modern and changing the ideas and cliches surrounding them.
Identifying Center Parcs as one of the main companies which has contributed to this shift, he states that this has shown a different way of selling travel, hotel insurance owners may be interested to discover.
Mr Atkinson states: "People like Butlins and Warner have learnt from that and they've brought their places up to date and they have modern activities."
He suggests that more choice has been introduced to these locations, with more options for food, accommodation and pastimes.
Recent research published by On the Beach shows that a third of Brits will be downgrading their hotel this year, while almost half say they will indulge in fewer expensive pursuits such as water sports.
