Financial help is available for SMEs hit by the recent floods, an industry body has announced.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has moved to remind firms that have been affected by the latest bout of bad weather that it still has a fund in place for just such circumstances.
SMEs could apply for an interest free loan of up to £5,000 to help them get back on their feet, the FSB said.
John Wright, national chairman of the FSB, said: "The FSB realises just how important it is for a small business affected by these unforeseeable incidents to be up and running as soon as possible, hence our interest free loan fund."
However, he added that it was still vital that government bodies also provided assistance to businesses, rather than just focusing on individuals.
The fund was originally set up in July 2007 in response to the flood that occurred that summer.
An estimate by the Association of British Insurers put the cost of the July floods at around £1.5 billion.
