The government is launching a new strategy to help small business insurance holders take on more apprentices.
According to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, 12 organisations have been awarded a share of the £7 million in funding to establish new apprenticeship training associations and group training associations.
The associations will focus on helping small business insurance holders to offer more apprenticeship places during the next three years and aims to increase the prospects of 16 to 18-year-olds.
Apprenticeship minister Kevin Brennan commented: "Apprenticeships are a key route to building the nations skills and as we rebuild growth, it's really important that we continue to invest in people and their skills, especially in industries key to our future economic success."
The scheme will be targeted at boosting the number of apprenticeships offered by small business insurance holders in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, logistics and green technology.
Recently, Brendan Barber, general secretary at Trades Union Congress, reminded companies of the importance of having fair employment practices.
