A new investment fund will help small business insurance holders in the technology sector, it has been claimed.In a speech at the UK Innovation Investment Fund Investor Summit, business secretary Lord Mandelson and science and innovation minister Lord Drayson addressed the potential that exists in small business insurance holders in the UK's technology sector.The fund was initially unveiled by prime minister Gordon Brown in June and Lord Drayson said a total of £150 million will be invested alongside private sector investment on an matched basis.He explained: "Today is absolutely the time to invest in our most promising technology companies. We've had a decade of record investment in science and innovation and we're seeing signs of recovery in the economy."The announcement comes after the manufacturers' organisation EFF said that the government needs to maintain its commitment to helping the country's business insurance holders by extending the 40 per cent capital allowances rate for a further 12 months.
