Small business insurance customers will be at the heart of the UK's economic recovery in 2010, it has been claimed.
According to national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) John Wright, banks must return over the next year to the lending criteria they were using before the recession.
He called on the government to nurture the growth of small business holders following the general election.
"Britain's five million small businesses will have their plans in place to grow and to flourish, many of these plans will be fragile but important nevertheless," he added.
An incoming government must make sure it nurtures these fragile plans, creating the right conditions for entrepreneurs to thrive.
Earlier this month, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills announced that small business insurance holders in the UK have taken advantage of over £580 million in government-backed loans since the start of the recession.
