A raft of new rules set to be introduced could prove too much for small firms, one industry body has warned.

In news which might be of interest to business insurance policy holders, John Wright, national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), explained that 20 new regulations are set to be introduced on October 1st and this could prove problematic for firms.

Although the FSB backs common commencement dates - the practice of introducing new rules on the same day - it still fears companies will suffer an overload.

He said: "In these tough times it is important for small businesses to remain economically active rather than spending their time filling in forms to adapt to new rules."

The extra regulation goes against government pledges to cut red tape, he added.

Meanwhile, in other news which might interest business insurance customers, the British Chambers of Commerce has dubbed the Workplace Parking Levy a stealth tax and called for it to be scrapped.ADNFCR-873-ID-18803824-ADNFCR
