Small business owners should become school governors, according to one body.

It might interest business insurance customers to know that the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) believes that becoming more involved in school matters can help create the next generation of entrepreneurs.

John Wright, national chairman of the FSB, said: "The Federation of Small Businesses would like to see more small business owners becoming school governors and helping to encourage more young people, the entrepreneurs of the future."

This will help them to realise that working for other people is not the only option, he added.

National charity School Governors' One Stop Shop (SGOSS) has also added its voice to the campaign.

Steve Acklam, chief executive of the SGOSS, urged small businesses owners to take the step.

Meanwhile, business insurance customers looking to save money at their firm might be interested to know that 62 per cent of respondents to a survey by Damovo believe that embracing IT can help them reduce outgoings.ADNFCR-873-ID-18884687-ADNFCR
