Car manufacturer Ford has announced that it is to release a limited edition version of its popular Fiesta model, according to Reuters.

The news agency reports that the new car will offer an economical offering 43.5 mpg and is expected to have a price tag of around £12,595.

It is thought that Ford will only release 400 of the new Celebration Fiesta which is being released to mark the 30 year anniversary of the small car.

The new Fiesta will be sportier than the regular version and will reach 62 mph in just under 10 seconds and give 100 brake horse power from its 1.6-litre petrol engine.

Ford announced earlier this year that the Fiesta name would be axed in favour of a newer model. Earlier this week it was announced that the company's replacement model, the Verve, would be on forecourts by November 2008.
