
Small businesses are being urged to show consideration for staff during the financial crisis.
It could be interesting news for small business insurance customers to hear that T-Mobile claims worry in the workplace caused by the downturn can be eased if workers are nice to each other.
Julia Porter-Robinson, the firm's HR senior recruitment manager at the firm, said: "It's always important for teams to be motivated and to understand how they interact. But when times are challenging, it's even more important."
Research by SHL published this month found that there are striking differences in what motivates different employees and only a quarter of employees find their manager motivational.
It showed that men are much more likely to be demotivated by meagre senior management while women are more affected by criticism (17 per cent) and poor relationships with colleagues (19 per cent).
Young employees are more likely to be demotivated by uninteresting work (35 per cent) compared to those over 35 (26 per cent).
