Business insurance holders need to ensure their performance is not damaged when their managers take holidays, it has been suggested.
Mike Petrook, spokesperson for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), called on business insurance customers to become better organised so their performance is not affected when workers take their vacations.
The representative pointed out that managers' performance can decline if they do not take holidays, as they will be less rested and more likely to make mistakes.
However, Mr Petrook suggested that business insurance holders have systems in place to avoid vacations having a negative impact on them.
"You don't want two people responsible for the same things absent at the same time. It does come down to who can go away and when and that depends on organisation at team level," he explained.
A recent survey by the CMI found that four out of ten UK managers have yet to book their summer holidays, with 20 per cent citing an excessive workload as the reason.
The poll also discovered 72 per cent worry about work, clients or deadlines when on vacation and 51 per cent check their emails.
In addition, one-third claimed they would swap their holiday for financial compensation.
