
Employees are most likely to be productive around mid-morning and could "shut off" mid-afternoon, according to a new study.
The research, conducted by employment law firm Peninsula, found that the majority of workers in the UK said they would generally be working harder around 10:30 GMT and had a tendency to lose interest in work around 15:30 GMT.
It was revealed that 82 per cent said that at mid morning time they would be most productive with 72 per cent admitting they shut off in the afternoon.
Commenting on the findings, head of HR practice at Peninsula Alan Price, said: "People told us they lose focus after [15:30] and start planning what they intend doing after hours, such as what they will be eating at dinner."
He added that for many people it can feel like the working day is done at this time and that this was frustrating for some company bosses.
"One has to consider how much financially it is costing UK employers if their workers wind down at 3:30pm," he concluded.
