Business insurance customers in the East Midlands will have the chance to get support through the economic downturn as the region's development agency expands a current scheme.

The East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) has opened up space for 60 more firms to become part of the HighGrowth programme.

If successful, business insurance customers will be given support and advice over 12 months, with the hope of growing the company.

John O'Reilly, Emda's business support director, said the scheme gives crucial support and vital guidance to businesses in the region.

"The programme also aims to equip businesses with the know-how to unlock their growth potential," he added.

Dynex, which designs and manufactures semi-conductor parts, has been part of a previous round of the scheme and says the support it received was "valuable".

Paul Taylor, chief executive officer at the company, stated the firm now expects turnover to more than double in the next four years.

Businesses insurance customers in the region can also access grants, after Emda secured money from the European Regional Development Fund.ADNFCR-873-ID-19175022-ADNFCR
