Businesses of all sizes can reap the benefits of having a presence online, it has been claimed.
David Mill, managing director of MediaCo, said that companies can use the internet in a variety of ways such as publishing an online brochure to a "fully-functional" e-commerce site.
"There is grave danger for companies who don't have an online presence," Mr Mills warned.
As more customers begin to use the internet to find services, firms that are not online are likely to lose out to their competitors, he suggested.
Mr Mills stated that small firms can "boost their web presence" in a variety of ways, including advertising their web address on vehicles, buildings and stationery.
Earlier in the month, research conducted by the Federation of Small Businesses revealed that fewer than 20 per cent of the country's small businesses currently sell their services and products via the internet.
