Figures relating to the sales of cask-ales have confirmed previous reports that volumes are growing, according to the Morning Advertiser.
The newspaper reports that sales have been growing annually by an average of 7.5 per cent per year and states that now one in every three pints sold in the UK are now cask ales.
It is thought that cask-ale volumes are now at 2.4 million barrels per year in a market that the report claims is worth around £1.4 billion.
Paul Nunny, director of beer quality auditor Cask Marque, said the report confirmed what many people had suspected for a number of years and that he hoped the report would continue to bring good news to the market.
"The idea is for this report to become an annual event so we can measure the state of the sector year on year and detect what influences are driving the market," he said.
Earlier this week Pete Brown, the author of the report, said despite recent claims, sales of cask ales were now higher than "at any one point in the last 50 years".
