An expert asserts that Brits are not willing to give up on their holidays due to the credit crunch, which could interest those with hotel insurance.
Mark Bower, lifestyle sales director at lastminute.com, claims that those worried about money are likely to reduce the amount of time they spend on vacation but will not miss out on taking one at all.
He states that the way in which people are arranging their breaks is also changing and advises travellers to avoid the school holidays.
A higher proportion of people are leaving booking their getaway until the last minute, he says, which could interest hotel insurance owners.
Mr Bower comments: "People really are waiting for those deals and they do seem to be coming through at the moment."
Recent research released earlier this month by lastminute.com shows a third of travellers will opt for a short city break this year.
Three million people admit they are planning to spend more on their holiday this year than in 2008.
