Small business insurance holders should look to exports as a way to grow, one expert has indicated.
Spokesperson for the Federation of Small Businesses Stephen Alambritis suggested exporting is a positive step for business insurance holders to take, because other markets could recover before the UK does.
He remarked: "For many businesses, knowing that they can export and getting the right information and contacts would be a good start to getting more businesses exporting."
Mr Alambritis added that small firms which may include those with business insurance - should increase their technology know-how as this will make it easier for them to become known in other countries.
He also noted the best option for small enterprises and companies is to meet up face-to face with prospective clients as more can be discussed.
The expert's comments follow the release of a study from Lloyds Banking Group, which revealed that just a third of small to medium-sized enterprises based in the UK have had any experience of export.
