Significant numbers of landlords - which could include those in possession of business insurance - are seeing a rise in tenant demand, according to new figures.
Research carried out by Paragon Mortgages shows that in the second quarter of 2010, 29 per cent of such property professionals claim demand among tenants was on the up, compared to the 24 per cent of those who felt this way about the first three months of the year.
Going forward, 35 per cent of landlords believe tenant demand will be higher this time next year, although eight per cent think it will be lower.
"Strong tenant demand is great news for landlords, but will lead to rental inflation for tenants unless the private rented sector is able to expand to meet this demand," Nigel Terrington, chief executive of the Paragon Group, comments.
He adds that long-term social changes, such a rise in the number of single-person households, is helping to boost demand for such homes, something that those with landlords insurance may wish to take into account.
Landlords insurance customers might also want to consider recent claims by LandlordZONE.co.uk director Tom Entwistle, who stated that obtaining finance continues to be a challenge for property professionals.
