Young workers at small firms could be struggling with their work-life balance, a new survey shows.
Research by American Express reveals that 92 per cent of young people are "prone to let things slip" in their personal lives because of their working commitments and a long hours culture.
The survey found that 45 per cent of people do not have time to cook their own meals from scratch, while half cannot find time to keep in touch with friends.
It also revealed that 31 per cent of respondents never have chance to look into starting a pension account, with the same amount saying they do not have time to sort out their finances.
Recently, a report by TalentDrain recommended that small firms should tailor their staff retention plans to the needs of individual staff members, something that should involve them offering flexible working hours.
