Small firms could face a struggle to hold on to staff after they return from their summer holidays, according to a new survey.
Research by DirectHolidayBookings.co.uk reveals that 46 per cent of people heading back to work after a break think about handing their notice in.
It also found that 56 per cent admit to feeling unsettled in their jobs after coming back from holiday.
However, despite this 87 per cent of people stated that holidays have a positive effect on their working lives in the long-term as they feel refreshed an ready to make life decisions.
Andrew Gibson, director of the holiday website, said: "Holidays are a vital way to recharge the batteries and reflect on your life and career."
Last week, a survey by fish4jobs found that 64 per cent of firms are facing constraints on their recruitment budgets.
According to the company, this means it is vital SMEs plan their employment drives to get maximum value for money.
