Language training for London business insurance holders

Free language and cultural skills training courses are being offered to business insurance holders in London, it has been revealed.

The London Development Agency (LDA) has launched two courses to help business insurance customers make the most of the opportunities generated by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Through the Regional Language Network London scheme, workers will be taught key phrases and cultural issues that will be help them deal with international visitors, while managers can be trained in skills to help them lead multicultural teams.

Business insurance holders who provide frontline services, such as those in the tourism, transport, retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, are most likely to benefit from the support, according to the LDA.

Boris Johnson, mayor of London, commented: "The training opportunities we are extending will be invaluable to all those businesses who are serious about taking on the overseas competition."

Recently, the LDA noted that business insurance holders in the construction sector have access to a range of training initiatives to help them take advantage of the 2012 Games.
