A firm's environmental credentials are an important factor for employees when deciding if they want to work for a company, new research shows.
The What Workers Want study, carried out by Savills, reveals that aside from standard factors such as job security, salary and flexible working hours, employees are concerned about their employers' green polices.
In found that 54 per cent of male and 67 per cent of female respondents rated this area as being an important factor in making a company a good employer.

Mat Oakley, director of research for Savills, said: "Clearly, there is some benefit to company profile by the instigation of 'green' policies - whether a good image attracts and assists in retaining staff is another matter."
Recently, the fifth City & Guild Happiness Index revealed that 57 per cent of people remain in their job because of an interest in what they do.
