Broadband internet access can be an invaluable tool for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), according to one expert.
A spokesman for information technology services company Small Business Computing said today SMEs could benefit greatly from broadband, but should use a reputable company.
Brett Marino, business manager for the company, said that broadband was cheap and convenient but if used correctly can offer so much more.
"[SMEs] need to be made aware of how to use broadband to its full potential. It is so much more than a quick and cost-effective way of downloading large files, emailing or accessing the internet.
He went on to advise that even the smallest of businesses can benefit from broadband but that it was important to find a reliable provider.
"Choosing a reputable broadband provider in the first instance is key," he concluded.
Earlier this year research from BT Business revealed that 86 per cent of SMEs in the UK were using broadband.
