The following is covered as standard within our engineer policy:
Business contents - Our policy covers your machinery, plant, trade contents and stock against a range of perils including explosion, fire, storm damage, malicious damage and theft involving forcible and violent entry or exit from the premises.
Business interruption - This helps you stay in business by covering loss of gross profit and reasonable expenditure incurred as a result of a loss covered under Section 1 of the policy.
A gross profit sum insured of £250,000 with an indemnity period of 12 months is our standard cover.
Loss of accounts receivable - Covers money up to a maximum limit of £25,000 that customers owe your business, but cannot be collected, due to loss or damage caused by an insured peril to your books of account or business records.
Public & Products liability - Provides cover of up to £2,000,000 for sums you become legally liable to pay in respect of accidental injury to any person or accidental loss or damage to their material property happening in the course of your business or caused by the nature or condition of anything sold or supplied by your business.
Our engineering insurance cover includes the following extensions as standard:

We also offer a range of additional optional covers for an additional premium. These include:
Employer's liability - Provides cover of up to £10,000,000 for sums you become legally liable to pay as damages, together with your legal costs and expenses relating to an injury to an employee for which you are legally liable.
Buildings - Covers the cost of rebuilding your premises.
Theft by employees - Cover against a direct loss as a result of fraud or dishonesty by employees up to a maximum of £5,000 in any one policy period.
Specified All risks - Provides cover for specified items used away from the business premises throughout the UK and for up to 30 consecutive days elsewhere in the world.
Computer breakdown - provides cover for loss or damage caused by computer breakdown or failure up to a value specified by you.
Personal accident - This cover provides compensation in certain circumstances to principals, directors and partners up to 65 years of age arising from accidents at work.
The basic level of cover provides:

Subsidence - This provides cover for damage to your premises as a result of subsidence, ground heave or landslip.
Terrorism - Covers you against damage to your property from the effects of acts of terrorism up to the maximum sums insured of Section 1 - Contents and Section 4 - Buildings.
These are some of the exclusions that apply to the policy. There are also further provisions such as those relating to security requirements, alarms and under-insurance, as well as general conditions and exclusions. Details of these can be found in the policy document. Other additional terms and conditions may be applied in certain cases. Excesses apply to certain types of claims.
Theft damage to premises - Where optional cover for buildings has not been purchased, loss or damage to the premises directly resulting from theft is limited to £25,000 for any one loss. See Clause V of Section 1 for terms and conditions.
Empty Buildings - We must be notified immediately if any building becomes unoccupied and a suitable extra premium paid if required. A warranty also applies which details measures you must take to protect the premises during periods of unoccupancy. See Clause N of Section 1 for terms and conditions.
Stock in any cellar - or basement to be placed on racks at least 150mm above floor level - see Section 1 of the Policy Document - Contents of the Premises, items A3 & A4, for terms and conditions.
Fire Protection Measures - Section 1 Contents and Section 4 Buildings
It is warranted that:
Waste removal warranty - It is warranted that all trade waste is swept up and bagged every night and removed from the premises at least once a week. See page 5 of the policy document for terms and conditions.
Minimum standards of security apply - Our liability for loss or damage by theft or attempted theft (including loss of money) is excluded unless our security requirements are fully complied with.
Goods in transit (Security) - If a vehicle is left unattended it must be locked at all points of access and it must be garaged in enclosed premises which are securely locked or have a watchman in constant attendance between the hours of 9pm and 6am. See Section 1 item E2 of the Policy Document for terms and conditions.
Business Interruption - Loss of gross profit to your business following the failure of the public supply of electricity, gas, water or telecommunications is limited to interruption caused by destruction or damage occurring at the premises of the supplier. See Section 2 Extension H4 of the Policy document for terms and conditions.
Transit Condition - It is a condition precedent to liability that whenever money in transit exceeds £2,500 at any one time:
Personal Accident: Assault - Age limits of 16 to 70 apply. Compensation for death or loss of limb or sight only applies if they occur within two years of sustaining the bodily injury. See Extension 5 of Section 1 for terms and conditions.
Fire Precautions Condition: Public Liability - This condition details measures to be taken by you, your employees or subcontractors whenever carrying out work away from your premises which involves the application of heat or angle grinders. See page 16 of the policy document for terms and conditions.
Public Liability - Cover excludes legal liability arising out of:

Asbestos Exclusion - Only Applicable to Public and Products Liability
We will not be liable for legal liability in respect of injury loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by arising from in consequence of or in any way involving asbestos.
Provided that this exclusion shall not apply to liability for injury or loss of or damage caused by any commodity article or thing containing asbestos where the presence of asbestos is not in itself a direct or indirect cause of such injury or loss or damage.
Products Liability - Cover excludes injury or loss of or damage to property caused by or in connection with products which are:
